Visiting Bard

A visit to Bard will help you get a feel for life at the College.

Bard’s campus covers approximately 1,200 acres of fields and forested land bordering the Hudson River in New York State, and features such state-of-the-art facilities as the Gabrielle H. Reem and Herbert J. Kayden Center for Science and Computation, Center for Experimental Humanities at New Annandale House, and Frank Gehry–designed Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts.

Attending Bard Events

Bard regularly offers public lectures, film screenings, and performances at several campus venues. The Fisher Center presents ongoing music, theater, and dance. You can cheer on the Raptors at our athletic facilities. The Hudson Valley’s outdoor recreation, cultural activities, and historic sites complement any visit to campus. It all happens at Bard.

Weather at Bard
There is a wide variety of weather at Bard throughout the year, from hot and sunny afternoons to cold and snowy winter days. Fall foliage is particularly beautiful in the Hudson Valley. Winter snow brings the opportunity to snowboard or ski at several nearby mountains. When the spring arrives, bringing all kinds of natural beauty, professors often hold classes outside on the lawns. And, later in the spring semester and in the early fall, students are able to wear shorts and T-shirts as we get our share of warm weather.
