I enjoy listening to music and love to read (mostly) non-fiction. During my college years I was fascinated by physics and math, but philosophy and biology (especially genetics) are my current favorites. I am also beginning to rethink about religion and its role in our daily lives. Some of the people I have read, or read about, who have influenced me the most are Jacob Bronowski, Richard Feynman, Mohandas K. Gandhi, John Gribbin, James Herriot, Premchand, Carl Sagan, and Amartya Sen.
On the outdoor front I like to go camping and hiking, though I have not indulged in either in recent past. In my younger days (sigh!), I have backpacked extensively in the Himalayas and along the southern coast of India. I hope to undertake some of these journeys again with wife, Sujata, and my two daughters, Noor Nandini and Seher Sagari, as we explore the land of our roots, India.
Here are some pictures of my daughters as I read them my favorite story, "Yertle the Turtle" by Dr. Seuss.
And here is one of my wife, Sujata.
Space exploration is another interest of mine, and I have been a member of the SETI project for a couple of years. If you wish to know more about it, or become a member of the SETI family, click on the picture below.
