NEW! DSpace Standard and Customized Services now available Participating colleges interested in open-source, managed institutional repository services can enroll in our DSpace Services for smaller colleges and universities. As a fully managed service, our DSpace Services allow campuses to start and grow their digital repositories with a minimal level of investment, with no hardware to purchase and very little application support expertise to develop. Campuses focus on the work of building digital repositories within the context of a community of campuses sharing ideas and best practices. Find out more at http://www.nitle.org/index.php/nitle/content/view/full/1275. Questions? Please contact Christina Richison at christina.richison@nitle.org. 2. Multipoint Interactive Videoconferencing (MIV) Services: Basic, Enhanced, and Auditorium Participating colleges can select from a variety of options that will allow them to see, talk to, and work with off-campus colleagues. NITLE MIV Services offer "seats" in a virtual room--or multiple rooms--reserved for the enrolled institution's use. Using MIV, individuals connect with each other directly from their computer desktops, using web-based video and audio, a shared whiteboard, chat, and application-sharing to communicate, interact, and collaborate across distance. Campuses can also reserve time in the MIV Auditorium. Find out more at http://www.nitle.org/index.php/nitle/content/view/full/1612. Questions? Please contact Karen Lee Davis at karen.davis@nitle.org. 3. Moodle Services: Basic, Campus, and Premium Participating colleges interested in open-source collaboration and learning management systems can enroll in our managed Moodle services--designed for smaller colleges and universities and the non-profit organizations that serve them--at a level appropriate to their needs. Campuses can use our services to test-drive Moodle, provide integrated support for campus courses, or foster inter-institutional collaboration with off-campus partners. Find out more at http://www.nitle.org/index.php/nitle/content/view/full/1655. Questions? Please contact Karen Lee Davis at karen.davis@nitle.org. 4. Sakai Pilot Project Participating colleges interested in open-source collaboration and learning management systems can also enroll in NITLE's pilot program for managed Sakai services. Enrollees receive access to limited Sakai LMS services through June 30, 2008, with space for up to 100 users in 5 courses. Participation in the Sakai Pilot Project is included with comprehensive and defined participation; AMICAL member colleges will be charged a nominal fee. Participating colleges without an LMS, with an LMS other than Sakai, or with Sakai are encouraged to enroll. Find out more at http://www.nitle.org/index.php/nitle/content/view/full/1388. Questions? Please contact Karen Lee Davis at karen.davis@nitle.org. == == Community-based collaboration and innovation == 1. Call for applications: Language Technology Boot Camp (Pomona College) * Language Technology Boot Camp. Program Dates: April 10 - 13, 2008. Application Deadline: Saturday, January 5, 2008.
