Tue, February 19, 2008. 8 pm - --Discussion & Book Signing w/ Rev. Bruce Chilton @ Woodstock Jewish Congregation
Book Talk & Signing: Abraham's Curse

Mirabai and the Woodstock Jewish Congregation welcome back author, pastor and educator Bruce Chilton, this time discussing the impact of the story of Abraham and Isaac on the beliefs and teachings of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Abraham's Curse explores how human sacrifice has been incorporated within Judaism, Christianity and Islam in the narrative of the patriarch's offer to kill his own son. Such sacrifice has been fundamental to who we are, from the Stone Age until the present day. But Abraham's Curse also reveals the hidden wisdom within ancient texts that turns patriarchal violence into the promise of blessing. The discussion will be followed by a book signing. The event will take place at the Woodstock Jewish Congregation located at 1682 Glasco Turnpike, just off of Route 212.

Cost: FREE
