"Mourning And Music In David Lynch’s “Blue Velvet”
A New York City Inter-Campus Event
Wednesday, March 18th, 4:15 p.m., BHSEC Library

This is a presentation of the Faculty Seminar Series by David Copenhafer, Faculty, BHSEC II, Queens

In the film "Blue Velvet" music is a  key component of the intricate staging of gender and sexuality. In the talk, Mr. Copenhafer will interpret four scenes in which characters either sing songs or imitate singing. He argues that the unsettling appearance of gender and sexuality within performance functions as a likely origin for the murderous rage of the film's antagonist, Frank Booth (Dennis Hopper).

The community is welcome to these events. Guests must present photo ID and sign in at the School Safety Desk. Thank you for your cooperation.
