Orville Schell

Orville Schell is a renowned author, professor, and journalist,
currently serving as the Arthur Ross Director of the Center on
U.S.-China Relations at the Asia Society in New York. He has a strong
background in Chinese history, as he graduated from Harvard University
with a B.A. in Far Eastern studies and the University of California,
Berkeley with an M.A. and Ph.D in Chinese History, studied the
language at Stanford University, and wrote extensively on the war in
Indochina. Schell has written nine books on various topics in Chinese
history, including the modern Chinese revolution as well as Chinese
reforms. His other books cover topics such as the American meat
industry and he has written articles on the journalist's life in Iraq.
