"Darkness, wind, tempest at sea, deluge of water, woods on fire, rain, thunderbolts from the sky, earthquakes and destruction of mountains, levelling of cities."
--Leonardo DaVinci

"Catastrophe/Apocalypse" is a course given every fall at Bard College in New York by Prof. William Mullen. It explores the emergent paradigm of "cenocatastrophism" ("ceno-" = "recent"), which assembles evidence that human civilizations have been shaped by recurrent large-scale catastrophes.
