The Bard Psychology Program is committed to providing a broad-based Liberal Arts Degree in Psychology. An important component of our degree is undergraduate research. We provide opportunities for our students to conduct and publicly present Psychological research.
Bard Psychology students have presented their work at the annual meetings of the American Educational Research Association, American Psychological Society, and the Eastern Psychological Association. We have also presented work at the Hudson Valley Undergraduate Psychology Conference, where Bard students took two out of the three top awards.
There are four ways in which students can conduct research:
Assist a Psychology faculty member in their ongoing research program
Conduct community-based institutional research through the Bard Applied Research Practicum
Design and run a research project as an Independent Study, under the supervision of a Psychology faculty member
Design and run a research project for your Senior Project. We strongly recommend this for out students who are interested in applying for graduate school
