Islamic History
http://www.wsu.edu/~dee/ISLAM/
ISLAM1.HTM
“Islam” is designed as a learning module in the form of a “research textbook” by Richard Hooker, as part of the “World Civilizations” program of Washington State University. It provides more information and in more detail than the average college freshman level world civilization textbook. It is apparently intended as a resource for students to extract overall back- ground, but with enough detail that they can approach sophisticated and creative assignments on the culture. The module highlights the similarities and differences between early Islamic cultures and other cultures of the same period, stressing the cultural interactions.

Political Cartoons from the Arab World
http://www.aljazeerah.info/Cartoons/Today's%20cartoons.htm
http://www.aljazeerah.info/Cartoons/2003%20cartoons/Jan-May%2016/Jan%202003%20cartoons.htm
Al-Jazeera's 'Today's Cartoons' is the source for numerous political cartoons on the Web, representing reactions of Arab cartoonists to American foreign policy in the Middle East, Israeli occupation policies and practices in occupied Palestine, or policies and practices of Arab governments and Arab rulers. The main objective is to enable English readers all over the world, particularly in the United States and Israel, to comprehend the impact of the policies of these governments on Arabs and Muslims. When people are more aware of the consequences of policies of their governments, states Al-Jazeera, cross-cultural understanding will increase, and that should lead to a more just and peaceful world.
Another bunch of Al-Jazeera cartoons can be found at . And here are a couple of cartoons that the U.S. State Department pressured Al-Jazeera to delete from their site:
http://www.thememoryhole.org/media/jazeera-cartoons.htm
