Information about your visits to the Counseling Service is not shared with the Dean, the faculty, your family, or anyone outside the Counseling Service staff without your permission. The exception is a situation in which you are assessed to be a danger to yourself or others; your records are subpoened; in reporting abuse as required by law; or in a situation judged by a staff member to be particularly grave. In these cases you will be informed, if possible, and no more information than necessary will be released. Counseling Service records are kept in locked file cabinets. No record of visits to the Counseling Service is entered on your official college record.
