Campus Telephone Numbers

There are a limited number of DID (Direct Inward Dialing) telephone numbers left in the College. These are numbers you can call directly from anywhere off campus. These numbers span from 7000 to 7099 and from 7200 to 7899. Extensions are telephone numbers from 7100 to 7199, 7900 to 7999 and 6000 to 6999. Dialing out from DID’s or extensions are identical. To call an extension, you first call 758-6822 and when prompted, enter the 4 digit extension

Voice Mail Information

The main voice mail number is 758-7600 or when dialing on campus, 7600.

Set-Up
Dial x7600 and follow the tutorial.

Forwarding Your Phone to Voice Mail
There are three forwarding commands:

  • Calls go to voice mail after four rings: Get dial tone and hit *7 7600
  • Calls go to voice mail when phone is busy: Get dial tone and hit *1 7600
  • All calls go directly to voice mail: Get dial tone and hit *2 7600

When you complete any of these commands you should hear a solid confirmation tone. If you hear an interrupted tone that means your phone has previously been forwarded, but you will not know where it has been forwarded. You will have to clear or deactivate the forwarding.

Once you have deactivated the forwarding command, you should get a solid confirmation tone for whatever command was giving you the trouble. Now you have to retry forwarding your phone as before, i.e. *77600, *17600 or *27600.

This time you should get a solid confirmation tone letting you know you have completed the command. Should you want to forward your phone to another number on campus, just substitute that number for 7600.

NOTE: If you have decided to forward your phone *2XXXX (all calls) your phone will not ring. The telephone system will alert you to this condition by supplying you with stutter dial tone. This dial tone is the same as a regular dial tone.

Deactivating Voice Mail Forwarding
To deactivate a previously forwarded phone, do one of the following:

  • To deactivate Four rings to voice mail: Get dial tone and hit #7
  • To deactivate calls going to voice mail when phone is busy: Get dial tone and hit #1
  • To deactivate all calls going to voice mail: Get dial tone and hit #2

If you have any questions, please call 6100. The recording will help you. If a problem still exists, please call B&G at X 7465 and give them your name, building, room number, telephone number and the nature of the problem.
