Campus Jobs and Work-Study Employment

Once you have obtained a job on campus, whether you are work-study eligible or not, there are steps you must take in order to actually receive a paycheck. Before you begin working, please come to the Student Payroll Office in room 202 on the second floor of the Building and Grounds building and ask for a W-4 form and an I-9 form or download them below.

In order to be paid for the hours you work, you must complete these forms and return them to the Student Payroll Office. Along with these forms, you will need to provide some identification. On page three of the I-9 form, (or on the back of the I-9 form if you pick it up in the Student Payroll Office) you will see three lists of different types of identification. You should either bring one item from list A or one item each from Lists B and C. These items will be photocopied and returned to you.

Upon completion of these forms, you will be set up as a student employee and will begin receiving pay checks in the next payroll that is processed, providing you have submitted complete and accurate time sheets for the hours you have worked. Your paycheck will be sent to your campus mail box in the post office, and will be issued on a bi-weekly basis. You can find student time sheets and a payroll schedule in the Student Payroll Office or download them below.

International Students and Campus Jobs

International students who have obtained campus employment must also take some further steps in order to begin receiving payment. An international student, before beginning work, should pick up from the Student Payroll Office a Foreign National Information form and an I-9 form or visit the Foreign Nationals page to download them.

Once these forms have been completed, bring them to the Student Payroll Office along with your passport, visa, I-20 or DS-2019 form, and your social security card.

The Foreign National Information form and the documents you provide will help us determine if there is a tax treaty between your country and the United States, and whether or not that treaty applies to your earnings. When we have that information you can be set up as a student employee and will begin receiving pay checks in the next payroll processed, providing you have submitted complete and accurate time sheets for the hours you have worked. Your paycheck will be sent to your campus mail box in the post office, and will be issued on a bi-weekly basis. You can find student time sheets and a payroll schedule in the Student Payroll Office or download them below.
