Software & Tools at Bard
Bard maintains campus-wide and limited-access licensing on a number of software packages. All of this software can be found and used in our campus computing labs and classrooms. Campus-wide lisences for software such as Microsoft Office is available for installation on all Faculty and Staff Bard-owned computers. Special software can be procured upon request. Software in our Labs
Bard's computing labs and classrooms contain a wide variety of software. All lab computers have browser, FTP, SSH, Telnet, and MS Office installed. Some labs on campus have specialty software for specific classroom use. Some of this sofware includes multimedia applications such as the Adobe CS3 Suite and Final Cut or scientific, computational, programming, and statistical software such as SPSS, Mathematica, Dr. Scheme, and Maple. Sophos Anti-virus is software that detects and eliminates viruses, worms, and trojans on your computer network. The Sophos Anti-virus product is liscensed by the Bard Information Technology Services (BITS) for the exclusive use of Bard College students, staff, and faculty on their college-owned and personal computers. download sophos

Personal Web Sites/SpaceAll faculty, staff, and students at Bard have server space designated for personal use.
Personal Web Space Quotas
- Student Web Quota = 65Mb
- Faculty and Staff Quota = 128Mb

Web Content Tools
Bard hosts a number of online content management tools allowing Bard faculty and staff the ability to add content to a number of Bard websites and calendars. These tools are accessible by permission only. If you would like to inquire about using this Content Management System (CMS) to update your website content, please contact the Web Services Office at 758-7665.
- All Faculty and Staff have access to the "Large-File Transfer Tool"
This tool allows you to send a large file to the server, along with an e-mail alert to your recipient. Your e-mail recipient will recieve an e-mail with a link to download the file.
