Morning Star and Her Day

Morning star was picking corn in the village, when she saw a plant killing the corn. She ran to tell her mother. Her mother ran to see what was happening to their corn. Then, her mom ran to tell the other people. Everyone was worried that their food would be gone. "We still have fish" said, one of the people. We can't eat fish all the time," said Running Wolf. Everyone piled into the long house. They talked about how to get rid of it. Well if we are going to defeat this, we must know where it is coming from. So they searched and searched, and they found out that it was coming from the pond. So they went into the longhouse again. But they couldn't figure out how to destroy it. So, they had to ask women who knew everything. And they said "take your best turtle shell and leave it on this plant for one night". So that night, they took there best shell and did as they were told. The next morning, they went to take a look and they screamed with joy! The plant was gone! So that night they held a celebration. And so from that day on, they were sure that that plant would never come back.
