I looked for about a half an hour for my tool. I looked in the tepee where everybody prayed to the spirit of the sun. I looked in my tepee. Finally I came to the steam house. The steam house was at the end of the village. It had to be there or my brother probably took it.
I went in and there it was next to the entrance. So I picked up my tool and set off for the woods. I was almost there when my little brother Lightening ran up to me and gave me a basket. I was about to ask him if he would like to come with me, but obviously not. He was too busy playing in the nearby river.
I entered the woods. It was so peaceful and quiet there. It put my mind to rest. I got down on my knees and started to collect herbs to put in the basket. The basket was full by the time I was done. I sat down to rest.
After my legs stopped aching, I got up and decided to wander around a little bit. I saw three squirrels, one deer and six rabbits. I started to head for the village. After a few minutes of walking, I arrived at the village.
I made all the food I was told to make. Then I went off to play in the river until it was dark. Then, I went into my tepee and hopped into bed. The next day, I put on my moccasins. Right before the feast started, mother gave me a beautiful beaded necklace. "You look wonderful ," she said. You do too, I answered back.
We carried all the food to the feast grounds and went our separate ways to talk to our friends
