Once long ago when the Indians were here, their was a man named Impuego. He was out hunting beavers by the Hudson River, When he saw a big ship. He ran back to his village to tell about this happening. All the men went to their homes to get their weapons. They got ready for battle when the Englishmen got off the ship. The Englishmen claimed to come in peace. Then after a few years they sent a note that told the indians they had three days to prepare for battle. The Indians were preparing as hard as the could. Impuego was in charge of the weapons. He took a hammerstone and chirt to make arrowheads. He stuck the arrowheads on to sticks to make arrows. The third day came and they were ready for battle. The indians each had 3 bows and 55 arrows. The indians knew their land but they were not used to bullets, bombs, and mines. Their was open land so their was not many place to hide. Impuego was busy making weapons for the lucky men who were able to run back. Unfortunately that wasn't much. Impuego decided to go out to war also. He found someone to take his place, he went out with 200 pieces of chirt and 250 sticks. He found out how to tell where mines were. He couldn't find any of his fellow indians. He hid behind a wall and loaded his arrows. He looked over and their were fifty Englishmen. loaded. Impuego started firing like crazy. In return he could see bullets and bombs. It didn't stop him. After awhile he got curios and peeked over the wall. There were four Englishmen still standing. He kept going but this time he had a better memory of where to shoot. He looked over and one person was there. He took a bow and shot him. The indians won.
