Membership

Friends of the Landscape and Arboretum at Bard!
The Friends of the Arboretum at Bard is a membership organization that supports Arboretum's mission and carries out its goals. When you join, you help support educational efforts and horticultural activities and take advantage of the Arboretum's benefits.

Goals:

Research and Tree Inventory
To develop a comprehensive horticultural database and library, including a tree inventory that will support staff, faculty, and students as they research the College's botanical collections, track changes in the landscape, and plan appropriate maintenance, restoration, and preservation of Bard's trees and plantings.

Landscape Master Plan
To develop a College Landscape Master Plan to help guide future growth and development to preserve and protect the campus's natural beauty.

Education and Outreach
To maintain the grounds so they can act as an outdoor classroom for courses across the academic curriculum.  A future-planned Arboretum Center would provide a focal point for educational outreach activities and a location for the Arboretum's staff, library, and research center.
