NEH Fellow 1984–85, Phi Beta Kappa National Lecturer 2002–03. Author
of numerous articles on Herodotus, Thucydides and Greek historiography,
as well as the introduction and commentary to the Oxford edition
of Herodotus (tr. Robin Wakefield, 1998). Co-editor of the forthcoming
Cambridge Companion to Herodotus and author of a forthcoming study
of narrative organization in the history of Thucydides.
