This
course will focus on the functional use of Arabic in a natural communication
setting. The four basic linguistic skills will be dealt with simultaneously.
Active and passive lexicon as well as advanced grammatical structures will be
taught through exposure to a wide range of texts. Aspects of Arab culture and
differences between Modern Standard Arabic and the spoken language will be
highlighted. Conducted mainly in Modern Standard Arabic. On-line

The course focuses on developing a significant level of linguistic and communicative competence in the language. The four linguistic skills will be dealt with simultaneously. Modern literary and expository texts, as well as a selection of texts from Arab media will be read to expand active and passive lexicon and grammatical structures.
